🍎 How to mitigate half of #foodsystem emissions by 2030? With a third of global emissions from food production, action is crucial. Research from WBCSD, FOLU Coalition, and We Mean Business Coalition shows that by reducing emissions from agriculture, protecting nature, increasing on-farm carbon capture and storage, and shifting demand from emissions-intensive commodities, the food and agriculture sector can mitigate up to as much as 9 gigatonnes of carbon dioxide equivalent (GtCO2e) annually. 🤝 Collaboration is essential, especially to support farmers facing disproportionate costs. Initiatives like the Farmer First Clusters (FFC) demonstrate collective action's power. Partnerships between businesses, policymakers, and financial institutions are crucial for creating an enabling environment. 👉 Read more in the article by Diane Holdorf (Executive Vice President, WBCSD) for Reuters: https://lnkd.in/gApstpC8

Looking back at the World Circular Economy Forum WCEF! Here are our main takeaways: 🔄 #Circularity represents an opportunity to transform business models to create business value while addressing both climate, nature and societal impacts. 🔌 The e-waste crisis is deepening. One of the ways the industry is responding to the crisis is by collaborating through important platforms like the Circular Electronics Partnership (CEP). CEP members and partners have defined a shared vision and roadmap to overcome the barriers to a #circularelectronics industry by 2030. 📊 Corporate circularity metrics and accountability systems for circularity are crucial for progress. At #WCEF2024, we unveiled the #CircularTransitionIndicators (CTI) for Electronics guidance, empowering stakeholders with key indicators & definitions for circularity: https://lnkd.in/e_AQD_5q 🏗 We need to adopt a standardized approach to allow stakeholders in the #builtenvironment sector to understand the circularity of their buildings. WBCSD has been developing the #CTI guide for the building sector- a framework that features measurements of material, energy, water flows and design. 🎯WBCSD is committed to driving #action, working across sectors and along value chains. Let's accelerate the transition to a #circulareconomy!
