At the Technical Faculty of IT and Design, Department of Architecture, Design, and Media Technology a position as Associate Professor in Architecture and Wellbeing is open for appointment from March 1st, 2020 or soon hereafter. The Department of Architecture, Design and Media Technology has as its goal the development of an innovative cluster of engineering-based environments for education and research which integrate creativity, engineering and technology within the disciplines of architecture, urban design, industrial design, and interactive media. The department is a leading research and educational environment in Denmark that addresses the challenge of the interplay between creativity and technology, and develops new areas in research and education directed towards the end-user.
At Aalborg University, the architecture research environment works cross-disciplinary integrating functional, technical, social, and aesthetic elements of architecture and we expect that the applicant master architectural research within an integrated design perspective. The department wishes to enhance its research within social sustainability, health and wellbeing and welfare architecture; focusing on an architectural research that explores a user perspective in architectural design. The candidate shall have an interest to contribute to the department’s theoretical focus on themes such as atmospheres and affordances, and address the SDG goals.
The applicant for the position must have a PhD-degree and a relevant background in architecture and/or architectural engineering.
