The Department of People and Technology, Roskilde University, invites applications for a position as associate professor of urban development and planning from September 21st or as soon as possible thereafter. The associate professor is expected to teach and do research in contemporary social, democratic and environmental challenges for cities and local communities and in responses from planning agencies. The research work will include planning theory, analysis of planning practices and participatory and experimental methodologies.
The Department of People and Technology is involved in development of sustainable solutions. We use experimental approaches and support people’s active commitment. Research in sustainable urban design and planning is central to the department’s research strategy and the associate professor should be able to do research and teach in planning and sustainability-related subjects within the departments urban planning and design-related study programs. The position in urban development and planning is primarily associated with the research group Space, Place, Mobility and Urban Studies (MOSPUS).
