The role will entail management of change within the historic built environment, combining technical expertise and architectural knowledge with commercial acumen and business leadership.

You will become a part of existing projects, undertaking a wide range of activities including leading and undertaking historic environment chapters of environmental impact assessments (EIA), liaising with clients and consultees, and agreeing and managing archaeological investigations.

You will make an impact in this role by…

• being focused on winning new work, overseeing the delivery of built heritage inputs for internal and external clients within a wide range of project sectors including planning, geotechnics, energy performance, property, transport and cities.
• the leadership of Arup’s more complex and challenging projects, leading on assessments, design advice and consent applications
• the ability to bring in a variety of work ranging from Conservation Management Plans, Conservation Area Assessments, Environmental Statements, Urban Renewal Strategies and complex conservation projects for sites in the UK and internationally

To achieve in this role, you are likely to have…

• Established track record of delivering public or private heritage focused projects;
• Full knowledge of the planning process (including EIA) and be fully conversant with the relevant environmental / heritage legislation and guidance;
• Robust knowledge of UK architecture and architectural history;
• Excellent presentation and report writing skills;
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively;

Qualifications:

• A good first degree in Architecture, Conservation of the Historic Environment or Architectural History;
• Relevant Masters degree or higher qualification in the built environment, eg. Architecture, Architectural History, Conservation Management or similar
