Localize.city reveals the full story of any address using billions of data points and our game-changing proprietary Machine Learning engine. We help home buyers and renters make smarter decisions, using the power of AI. After launching in NYC, we're now expanding to more cities and looking for star data scientists to join our rapidly growing team.

THE ROLE

As a Data scientist, you’ll join a team of Data Scientists in a unique operation where you will be collaborating with Urban Planners based in NYC and elsewhere. You will analyze and extract knowledge from many different kinds of spatiotemporal data: housing prices, transportation logs, police incidents, residents’ complaints, building permits, web social data, and thousands of other sources.

THE PRODUCT

The algorithms and tools that the team produces are at the heart of the product's value proposition. Key insights and analyses are not only consumed by tens of thousands of users but also regularly featured in media outlets such as the New York Times, Wall Street Journal, and others. Team members research, adapt and apply new technologies and methods to solve real-world problems in the fields of urban planning, economics, market research and more.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Experience with R
  • 4+ years of demonstrated data science experience in a fast-paced environment
  • B.Sc degree in Mathematics / Physics / Computer Science / Engineering or equivalent
  • Proven experience of applying qualitative research and business common sense to contextualize and solve data problems
  • Advantage: Experience with urban data or knowledge in urban planning
