About Us

EIT Urban Mobility is an initiative of the European Institute of Innovation and Technology (EIT). Since January 2019 we have been working to encourage positive changes in the way people move around cities in order to make them more liveable places. We aim to become the largest European initiative transforming urban mobility. Co-funding of up to € 400 million (2020-2026) from the EIT, a body of the European Union, will help make this happen.

About the Role

The Innovation Lifecycle Officer will report directly to the Head of the Innovation Hub East for day-to-day line-management. Strategic direction will be provided by the corporate Innovation Director based in Barcelona. The primary focus will be to animate the innovation capacity within the partner network in the designated geographic region.

What You're Gonna Do

Support partners develop innovation proposals in cooperation to be submitted to open funding calls.
Monitoring/coaching the innovation portfolio within the Innovation Hub and according to the pan-European thematic area.
Provide active monitoring, project reporting and commercial performance and compliance.
Liaising with national and regional innovation programmes aligned to EIT Urban Mobility’s strategy.
Coordinating best practice exchange in innovation and driving European-wide take-up of the Innovation Hub’s solutions.
Drive access to regional/national funding and handover lead to City & Funding Officer.
Troubleshooting for local partners in matters related to projects, demonstrations and processes.
Work closely with the communications team drive effective messaging on the Innovation programme and projects.

About You

We are looking for a “can do” attitude, technical competence in mobility, technology, and innovation.
The successful candidate will have devolved KPI targets, namely., Product/Services Brought to Market
and Start-ups Created from funded projects. They will be accountable to ensure the project deliver and,
if necessary, implement remedial actions with failing projects. Meticulous multi-task management and
commercial negotiation skills are highly valued.
The ideal candidate would also have:
▪ 5 years of experience in the sector of energy, mass transit, digital technologies, and freight/logistics.
▪ 2 years of experience in commercial projects or management
▪ Well-developed communication and management skills, including public speaking
▪ Analytical capacity to research, read and precis complex ideas into simple understandble prose.
▪ Capability to build relationships of trust and work in a matrix environment
Experience in the below would be considered as a plus:
▪ Demonstrable expereince in mobility innovation within their given field
▪ Evidenced capacity to execute on defined strategy and deliver on timelines.
▪ Experience of monitoring and reporting on commercial project development, testing and launch-tomarket.
▪ Credentials in working with academic, industry and city partners.
▪ History of designing and faciliating workshops on target topics
▪ Track record of technical writing and financial planning for competitive bids.
▪ Detailed knowledge across a some of our key work areas: Artificial Intelligence, Logistics, Hyodrgen
and Battery Electric Transition, Mass Transit, Civil Engineering, FinTech, Urban Planning.
EDUCATION
▪ A level of education completed in a Masters Degree in Urban Transport/Planning, Civil Engineering,
Technolgy or similar technical Masters’ degree.
▪ Excellent written and spoken English (C1).
▪ One or more additional European languages (Hungarian or Polish) are considered a plus.
