We are one of the leading point of reference within the academic field of cycling.

In our new DFG research project ARROW (Augmented Reality expeRiments for small things On Wheels), we will collaborate with the Augmented Vision Lab at RPTU to develop technologies and research methods for Augmented Reality (AR) experiments. For example, we will allow participants to ride in a controlled training environment and deliberately modify their perceived surroundings using AR. With this innovative research
approach, we aim to study the riding behaviour of cyclists and their interactions with other road users.

Your contributions to ARROW will include:

• Designing experiments to investigate cyclist behaviour using AR, taking into account practical, ethical, and scientific aspects (our project partners are responsible for the development of the AR technology itself),
• Conducting the experiments,
• Analysing collected data and developing behavioural models based on the results,
• Publishing scientific articles in international journals and presenting the research findings at national and international conferences.

MSc or equivalent in (Transport) Engineering, Spatial Planning, Urbanism (mobility focus), Computer Science (with an excellent track record).

Motivated to pursue a doctorate.

Excellent communication skills, independent and team-oriented.

Curious and willing to be at the forefront of science.

Fluent in English or German (with good knowledge of the other).
