Most GIS tutorials are generic. This one isn't. Every tool, dataset and exercise is chosen for how urban professionals actually work: site analysis, zoning, mobility data, market analysis and policy evidence. You go from any starting level to running your own spatial analysis in QGIS, and finish with a portfolio-ready project, a certificate and skills you can apply at work immediately.

Now with AI-aided GIS workflows built into the programme. The programme includes dedicated classes on using LLMs and map-connected AI tools alongside QGIS for data preparation, analysis and interpretation. The focus is on real urban use cases: where AI adds value, where it doesn't, and how to use it without losing spatial reasoning or analytical rigour.

This course is designed for anyone, whether you're a total beginner or already have some GIS experience. We start with the basics and build up to advanced techniques by the end.

This course uses QGIS, a free and open-source software. You'll be guided through installation and we'll make sure you're set up before the course starts. No coding or advanced maths required. Any reasonably modern computer works; 8GB RAM is recommended for larger datasets.
