The Joint Masters in Integrative Urban Studies (INUS) is a groundbreaking two-year interdisciplinary master’s program developed in partnership between the Brno University of Technology (Czech Republic), the European Humanities University (Lithuania), and the University of Wroclaw (Poland). This unique program allows students to experience three dynamic European cities—Brno, Vilnius, and Wroclaw—while engaging in a cutting-edge curriculum focused on urban transformation.
INUS is the first program of its kind in Central and Eastern Europe, integrating urban design, social sciences, policy, and planning to address the specific challenges of post- socialist cities within a global context. The curriculum is structured to provide in-depth knowledge and practical experience in diverse urban environments.
The program is divided into four semesters, each with a distinct thematic and geographic focus:
Semester I (Brno – “Space”)
Focuses on the physical form of cities and the intersection of architecture, politics, economics, and society.
Semester II (Vilnius – “Actors”)
Explores the role of stakeholders—governments, communities, businesses—in shaping urban futures.
Semester III (Wroclaw – “Policy”)
Concentrates on urban governance, infrastructure development, and policymaking in post-socialist Europe.
Includes core and elective courses in urban theory, policy, and planning.
Semester IV (Thesis)
Students complete an original thesis in collaboration with local institutions, NGOs, municipalities, or private sector partners.
INUS offers more than academic knowledge; it provides practical, real-world experience across different urban settings. Students will develop the ability to:
