The Marmara Urban Forum (MARUF), organized every two years by the Marmara Municipalities Union (MMU), will take place for the fourth time from October 1–3, 2025, at the Haliç Congress Center in Istanbul. Since 2019, MARUF has served as an international platform connecting urban stakeholders to exchange knowledge and develop practical, scalable solutions for cities. The 2025 edition, titled “On the Shore of All Possibilities,” will address key urban challenges including climate change, disaster risk, mobility, governance, digitalization, care, and housing.
The forum features a wide range of activities including thematic sessions, showcases of good practices, networking events, workshops, exhibitions, field visits, and creative formats like Urban Cinema and Urban Routes. It focuses on four main themes: democratic governance, urban resilience, inclusive care, and social cohesion. MARUF25 brings together public institutions, international organizations, local governments, private sector actors, NGOs, universities, and media to foster cross-sector dialogue and collaboration. Over 120 partner organizations are expected to take part. Participation is free and open to all, and registration is available at marmaraurbanforum.org.
