The RiConnect webinar on Placemaking, to be held June 8th at 11.30

How to turn spaces into places? This is the main goal of ‘placemaking’, where citizens are the key part of the process to reimagine and reinvent public spaces collectively, while connecting economic and social well-being.

The speaker will be Charlot Schans, Director at Placemaking Europe, a network connecting practitioners, academics, community leaders, market actors and policy makers throughout Europe in the field of placemaking. The webinar will share the principles of placemaking and best practices in European cities, so as to see how placemaking projects can be a great tool to rethink infrastructure spaces, making citizens reclaim and enjoy new places.

RiConnect is a network of 8 metropolises which aim is to rethink, transform and integrate mobility infrastructures in order to reconnect people, neighbourhoods, cities and natural spaces. We develop planning strategies, processes, instruments and partnerships to foster public transport and active mobility, reduce externalities and social segregation and unlock opportunities for urban regeneration.
