Megawra|BEC is a grounded professional hub in the fields of architecture, urbanism, and conservation. A partnership between the Built Environment Collective (an NGO founded in 2011) and Megawra (a private office founded in 2014), it aims to improve the built environment through equitable and inclusive modalities that utilise the city’s cultural landscape. Its activities include research, project design, and implementation with a focus on areas of heritage and cultural value. Based in Egypt, Megawra|BEC is committed to building an institutional mechanism for knowledge production and sharing across the global south.
