While CLT has been recognized as a great building material in the Northern countries (they build residential buildings as well), in our country the use of CLT is not as common despite its obvious advantages compared to traditional materials. The regulation also doesn't help for large-scale architect offices dreaming about CLT skyscrapers, however we hope to help the regulators and practitioners get on track for a sustainable future & built environment. How it's made cross-laminated house edition🍃 Many hours of work to deliver the best result to this wonderful scenery 🙌

CLT House - bridging the gap between natural and built environment seamlessly 🌳🏡 Proudly presenting you our newest design & build work: a CLT weekend house featuring 2 living spaces, a 135 squaremeter terrace, a summer kitchen and a green roof. The building is dug into a small hill, blending in nature and hiding from curious eyes. Bending along the shore of the pond, the house is a perfect spot for enjoying sunsets. One can see nothing but the shark fin like furnace chimney prior entering the house, but once you descend the stairs, an amazing panoramic view opens up from the wooden terrace. Cross laminated timber gives the main characteristics of the house, while creating a contrast between the bright interior and the darker exterior cladding. The wooden facade was treated with yakisugi, creating a natural black colour, which reflects the black bass that can be found in the adjacent fishpond. Touch of wood can be found even in the concrete elements of the building - we used leftover wood for molding the concrete, hence making its surface represent the natural rays of the wood. This also allowed us to minimize waste for the construction. .
