About us

At 3XN, we believe that buildings are more than the sum of their parts and constantly seek to achieve a synthesis of design, function and context. Our buildings are uniquely matched to each project but always seek to combine beauty and meaning by putting people at the center of design. Designing buildings that are light and connected, ensures clarity and well-being for their users. Our work is founded in ongoing research into how buildings reflect and inform human behavior and the environment – this allows us to advance innovative solutions to contemporary challenges. We constantly seek to enhance a sense of community, identity and relationship to others through beautiful and functional spaces. Research is essential to our design and allow us to push the boundaries of aesthetics and functionality. Each project stands on the shoulders of previous work allowing us to constantly evolve and develop our know-how. As we learn from project to project, we apply this learning in new ways to add lasting value to our architecture and our practice. Today our staff is a mix of experienced project architects and talented young design architects from over 20 nationalities. We work on a global scale but take pride in our history and Scandinavian roots bounded by humanistic values. This allow us to re-invent tradition with a clear understanding of some of the most exciting and pressing challenges of the 21st century.

A PLACE FOR THE PUBLIC SAP Garden is designed as a catalyst for activity – both on game days and ‘off days’. As a sports arena, it is a destination for the many with the ability to house ice hockey, basketball and a multitude of third-party events. On days with no official activities, it remains a place full of life. “There is a reason why we go to arenas, why it is so important to be able to go in person: 𝘄𝗲 𝘄𝗮𝗻𝘁 𝘁𝗼 𝗲𝘅𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗮 𝗳𝗲𝗲𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗴. I believe that this feeling only arises when we experience something together,” says Jan Ammundsen, Senior Partner at 3XN. ”As architects, we want to help make this feeling in the hall as intense and exciting as possible. There are good tools for doing that: sound technology, lighting technology. The main thing is that the experience is something special, something that you cannot have anywhere else." Read about SAP Garden on ArchDaily: https://lnkd.in/da2tzGEV Photos: Rasmus Hjortshøj - SAPGarden is designed by 3XN/GXN and developed together with joint venture partner and local architect CL MAP GmbH (Munich) for Red Bull München. #3xn #3xnarchitects #arena #münchen #redbull #sports #SAPGarden #archdaily

When we say 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙗𝙚𝙨𝙩 𝙘𝙝𝙞𝙡𝙙𝙧𝙚𝙣'𝙨 𝙝𝙤𝙨𝙥𝙞𝙩𝙖𝙡 𝙞𝙣 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙬𝙤𝙧𝙡𝙙 - we mean it. "At Børneriget Fonden/Foundation for Mary Elizabeth's Hospital, we want to be ambassadors for children's rights - and we do this with the 𝗨𝗡 𝗖𝗼𝗻𝘃𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗼𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗥𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁𝘀 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗖𝗵𝗶𝗹𝗱 as our compass. The Convention on the Rights of the Child consists of 𝟱𝟰 𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗶𝗰𝗹𝗲𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗮𝗹𝗹 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝘁𝗲𝗰𝘁 𝗰𝗵𝗶𝗹𝗱𝗿𝗲𝗻'𝘀 𝗿𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁𝘀, and some of them are particularly important in our work to support Mary Elizabeth's Hospital for children, adolescents and expecting families (...)."

  • MAJOR MILESTONE: 𝐄𝐮𝐬𝐭𝐨𝐧 𝐓𝐨𝐰𝐞𝐫 in Regent’s Place in London approved at planning committee! It is with great excitement we announce that planning approval for the Euston Tower project has been granted, allowing it to progress to the next phase. Starting in December 2022, 3XN/GXN, British Land, and a team including Arup, Adamson Associates Architects, and DSDHA engaged with local stakeholders to reimagine Euston Tower. A revised planning application was submitted in December 2024 and approved by Camden Planning Committee on 20 March 2025. Situated in London’s Knowledge Quarter – between Euston Station and Regent’s Park – Euston Tower will deliver a unique new workspace for the West End and create a new focal point in the skyline. The 31-storey tower will comprise 19,000 sq ft floor plates, 360-degree views across central London, terraces and shared amenity spaces for collaboration, to support a strong ecosystem for businesses to network, generate ideas and launch products.   The new design features a rectangular floorplate divided into quadrants, creating the illusion of four slender towers with rounded corners to reduce wind turbulence, while an articulated crown adds depth to the skyline. The project includes an ambitious material recovery strategy, testing concrete reuse with the University of Surrey and Arup. This is a groundbreaking first in the #UK, demonstrating the viability of structural #concrete #reuse. The project reflects the ultimate dedication and hard work that we, along with our partners and client, have invested to bring Euston Tower to life. We look forward to continued collaboration—and to Euston Tower becoming an important addition to the City of London! At GXN, we connect the dots between healthy environments and human well-being. Building on this commitment, we are embarking on a one-year collaboration Architecture and Behaviour Network initiated by BBAR (Brain, Body, Architecture Research) at Aalborg University. Last Friday, GXN Behavioural Design Specialists My Lunsjö and Tandia Hardcastle attended our kick-off meeting at Utzon Center in Aalborg with fellow architects and researchers at C.F. Møller Architects, CEBRA, ERIK arkitekter, AART, and Carlberg ApS.   We are very excited to work closely together to uncover new knowledge and questions that can explore and address contemporary challenges in architectural design, human psychology, and behaviour.   -----   We spend time understanding how to bridge architecture and science to make a positive impact on our projects, both inside and outside of the legal site boundary. • How do we align stakeholders toward shared sustainability goals? - By focusing on what we can genuinely influence and communicating it clearly, tangibly, and transparently.   “At GXN, we’ve found that people don’t reject innovation because they dislike it—they reject it because it feels too risky, too novel, or too complex to implement. These are high-stakes decisions with serious financial and reputational consequences.   The challenge isn’t opposition to innovation—it’s perception of risk. Our role is to close the information gaps, making new ideas feel safe and doable. That means aligning stakeholders around shared goals, and providing the right data at the right time.” _ Read a conversation between asset and development management company V7 and GXN Senior Associate adam ozinsky here: https://lnkd.in/ebUmrfbw

The latest issue of #UrbanSolutions is out now! Titled “Resilience and Regeneration”, this issue explores how urban planning, underpinned by regenerative design and development, enhances cities’ climate resilience. Regenerative design is an urban development approach for high-density cities to remain highly liveable in a climate-changed and resource-constrained future. This allows cities to achieve net benefits while addressing multiple developmental needs, rather than having to make trade-offs. Centred on regeneration, issue #25 examines key tenets of climate financing, carbon-sensitive design, and community engagement, reimagining the future of nature-centric, carbon-positive, and circular urban development.
