About the Role

As our Junior Housing Innovation Specialist, you will help us to expand and enhance our Housing Innovation work, which currently comprises three strands: Healthy Ageing; Retrofit; and Innovative Finance. The team provides domain expertise around the intricacies of the housing sector -existing processes, tools, policies, governance and culture – and a vision of how innovation can unlock better outcomes for people and places in their homes and communities in the future. The Junior Housing Innovation Specialist will be instrumental in supporting the wider Built Environment Directorate by providing housing domain expertise in the delivery of projects, events and communications and thought leadership to increase the impact of our work to a wider audience.

What You're Gonna Do

- Research and stay up to date with any legislative, academic and commercial developments in the housing innovation and built environment industry, in the UK and abroad. - Support the delivery of projects by working with matrix teams to research and produce housing related content. - Utilise visual design skills to communicate complex narratives in clear, visual and engaging ways. - Support our events and communications team to develop and manage our internal and external communications, including writing blogs, articles and developing content for presentations. - Support our SME team to help identify partners, support new businesses and help shape projects that will impact the built environment and housing industry. - Support the Housing Innovation Team lead on the successful delivery of our Homes for Healthy Ageing Programme and Sustainable Housing Futures Programme. - You may be required to undertake any other reasonable duties to support the Catapult in achieving its strategic outcomes and ensure effective business operations.

About You

- Qualification in a built environment related discipline (including housing, town planning, architecture, urban design, engineering, geography or equivalent relevant experience). - Professional experience in the housing or built environment industry - In-depth knowledge of one or more of either; housing, sustainability, net zero, innovation, planning, development or similar. - Ability to communicate effectively; through visual as well as written and verbal means with project partners, industry leaders and external stakeholders. - Strong and demonstrable visual design skills to communicate concepts in clear, visual and engaging ways. Desirable - Experience in communicating about housing through means such as blogs, or visual presentations. - An understanding of future trends and technologies that are changing the housing sector. - An overview of the current technological tools being used in the housing sector. - Knowledge and experience of agile project delivery and methodology.
