About the Role

The Head of Government Affairs will interact with local, state, and federal legislative bodies and government agencies to represent and protect the NIO’s US business plans and interests

What You're Gonna Do

- Stay current on existing and proposed legislation, meet with local, state and federal government officials and lobbyists and update management on relevant laws and regulations. - Maintain and nurture the relationships with government, associated authorities and all committees, legislatively represents and protects NIO’s interests. - Assist senior management and leadership with strategic planning for known and potential regulatory activities related to the NIO’s business and EV industry. - Build and maintain professional relationships with members of federal, state, and local government entities and agencies. · Grow and maintain diverse coalitions in support of policy issues and business priorities. · Join trade associations and industry committees and seeks leadership roles. · Collaborate with industry advocates to build areas of common interest. · Testify before government committees in support of the NIO and/or EV industry. · Ability to navigate the political landscape and think creatively. · Monitor ongoing regulatory, legislative and compliance efforts to ensure NIO’s business efforts continue to stay ahead of market development. · Introduce legislative and public policy changes that will support company operations. · Partner with legal counsel to ensure compliance on regulatory matters. · This position will require some domestic travel commitments and reports to the Managing Director, NIO US Operations.

About You

- Excellent verbal, written communication and executive presentation skills - Excellent interpersonal and negotiation skills - Strong government contacts at local, state, and federal levels - Strong analytical and problem-solving skills - Exceptional strategic and problem-solving skills - Prior experience in the automotive/EV industry is a PLUS - Master’s degree in Business Administration, Political Science, Public Relations, or related field required - At least Ten years of experience in advocacy or public policy required
