Hundreds of cities have already committed to getting carbon emissions down to zero, welcoming migrants and refugees, and governing through dialogue with their residents. Local governments work on the ground with citizens and residents, and are essential partners for turning EU policies and ambitions into reality. As such, cities must be included directly in European decision making and should be in direct receipt of European funds. Eurocities, the network of major European cities, is recruiting a project coordinator to work in sustainable urban mobility, mainly focusing on public transport. As project coordinator, you will work as part of the mobility team and be responsible for Eurocities activities under the EU-funded UPPER project. UPPER is a large-scale Innovation Action that aims to reinforce the role of public transport in providing accessible, inclusive and attractive zero-emission mobility in cities by 2030, in line with the Climate-Neutral and Smart Cities Mission and the priorities of the European Green Deal. In addition, you will be exploring funding opportunities related to sustainable urban mobility and contribute to our advocacy and working groups in this domain. In this role, you will: - Manage Eurocities’ activities and responsibilities in the framework of the Horizon Europe UPPER project, with a specific focus on knowledge-sharing, transferability and replication, and policy recommendations - Work in tandem with the senior project coordinator - Liaise with the lead partner and other partners - Manage the project budget within Eurocities’ responsibility - Prepare required deliverables, technical reports, and cost statements - Ensure strong links with our policy work and relevant EU platforms and initiatives - Contribute to the Eurocities Mobility Forum activities and working groups. - Participate in other relevant activities of Eurocities. - Disseminate information to members on the project outcomes in cooperation with the communications team. - Stimulate and support project development in sustainable urban mobility in cooperation with the senior project coordinator and the project & knowledge-sharing director.

You are an experienced professional full of initiative, self-driven, curious, creative, flexible and results-oriented. The skills and experience to do this job successfully include: - a successful track record of five years of work experience - strong experience in EU-funded project management - a background in transport and mobility (academic and/or through professional experience) - experience in coordinating and working with multiple stakeholders at the EU and local level - in-depth and up-to-date knowledge on sustainable urban mobility EU; dedicated expertise on public transport is a strong asset - experience in knowledge transfer and event organisation - experience translating project work into policy recommendations - fluent in English, and able to write clear and concise reports in English - good networking abilities and interpersonal skills for an international environment - excellent relationship management, negotiating, coordination, and communications skills Assets: - experience in working with local and city governments or public sector partners on sustainable urban mobility, with a specific focus on public transport, multimodal hubs, shared mobility and MaaS - other languages - experience in policy work - experience writing project proposals - experience in writing policy recommendations and publications We are looking for candidates who fulfil most of these criteria but do not hesitate to apply if you think you could be a good fit for the position.
