About the Role
The University of Manchester is seeking to appoint a Research Associate for the African Cities Research Consortium (ACRC). ACRC is a six-year, £32 million FCDO-funded Research Programme Consortium (RPC) based within the Global Development Institute in the School of Environment, Education and Development. The Consortium is conducting policy-oriented research to tackle complex problems in some of Africa’s fastest growing urban areas. Over six years (2020-2026), our research will generate new evidence to catalyse integrated, sustainable, inclusive approaches to urban development. This post offers the opportunity for an early career researcher to make a significant contribution to the work of an exciting international research programme. The postholder will support the delivery of ACRC’s publishing plans; support the coordination of our working paper series, and provide general research associate support to the CEO, Deputy CEO and research directors. They will also be encouraged to pursue their own research and publications agenda, which we expect to be closely linked to ACRC’s research agenda, for 20% of the time.
