About Us

MobiliseYourCity (MYC) is an open international partnership launched at COP21. It contributes to the New Urban Agenda and UN’s 2030 Agenda. Created by the governments of France and Germany, the MYC Initiative is supported by the European Commission and supports national and local governments in developing countries in the planning of sustainable urban mobility to develop more inclusive, liveable and economically efficient cities and the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions By 2020, 100 cities will be engaged in deep transformational actions through the implementation of Sustainable Urban Mobility Plans (SUMP) supported by National Sustainable Urban Mobility Policies (NUMP). MobiliseYourCity aims to assist cities in their efforts to cut at least 50% of their urban transport related emissions by 2050 compared to business as usual. With the support of a coalition of international partners (development agencies, urban and transport planning agencies, NGOs and development banks), MobiliseYourCity provides a methodological framework, capacity building and technical assistance, and facilitates access to financing at both local and national levels.

About the Role

Under the coordination of the Head of the Secretariat, The MobiliseYourCity Mobility Intern will have the following Learning Objectives: - Become aware of what Sustainable Urban Mobility Plans and National Urban Mobility Policies and Investment Programmes are and what the role of multi-actor partnerships like MobiliseYourCity and other Partners is. - Acquire knowledge about the trends, challenges, and opportunities for the development of urban mobility in the Global South (focus by mode, field or geography) - Gain experience about capacity building on sustainable urban mobility for local and national governments worldwide. - Learn stakeholder and institutional relations management in a complex network of country and city members. - Become familiar with development cooperation with Latin America, Asia and Africa and develop professional knowledge of climate policy and the implementation of NDCs in the transport sector.

What You're Gonna Do

- Assist in the development and implementation of capacity-building activities, such as training workshops, online courses, and peer-to-peer learning for urban mobility practitioners and policymakers in Latin America and the Caribbean, Asia, and Africa. - Support the conceptualisation, planning, and moderation of training series (virtual or face-to-face), including preparation documents (invitations, agendas, ppts). - Support the organisation of events such as the presentation of methodological guidelines for urban mobility and communities of practice events. - Assist with research and data collection on topics and projects related to urban mobility in Latin America, Asia, and Africa. - Prepare and contribute to the writing of short technical articles, guidance documents, and presentations for external and internal project communication, as well as supporting the content and presence of the website, social media, and intranet. - Contribute to the development of joint communication materials, such as newsletters, website content, and social media messages. - Support the development of fact sheets, SUMP and NUMP summaries, and lessons learned documents. Support project impact monitoring and reporting. - Support knowledge management, network management, and the exchange of information within the team and towards external stakeholders.

About You

- Completed university studies in transport, economics, engineering, politics, communication, social sciences or a related field. - Business fluent in French and English. Knowledge of Spanish is a plus. - Knowledge of the challenges of sustainable urban mobility, especially in the Global South is required - First relevant professional experience in international development cooperation, especially in the field of climate change and transport/urban mobility preferred - Affinity and enjoyment of working with digital/social media, organisational skills, commitment as well as independent, reliable, and team-oriented way of working. - Good feeling for language and skilled in writing and editing texts. - Autonomy, proactivity, and the ability to effectively use information and data. - Good knowledge of common office programs (especially Word, PowerPoint, and Excel) and design software (e.g. Adobe InDesign, Photoshop) and openness to AI software
