About Us
AzuKo is an architecture charity. We dream of a just world, in which every person enjoys the right to dignified living conditions.
We design with disadvantaged communities and empower them to create the world they dream of. From housing, sanitation and infrastructure to play and public space, our projects address urgent needs. Our efforts are focused in the UK and Bangladesh.
About the Role
Are you passionate about social impact? Help us annually increase and manage grant funding income from Charitable Trusts and Foundations.
We’re using human-centred design to tackle some of the world’s toughest problems, but we can’t do it alone. We need your help.
We’re looking for an experienced fundraiser to join an exciting and dynamic team, in north London, to grow our income through relationship development, focused research and grant applications.
What You're Gonna Do
- Prepare an annual three year plan and budget to develop grant income
- Implement that plan, working with the team to achieve that objective
- Identify, research and approach national and international trusts and foundations, and other grant making bodies, who have the potential to donate towards the work of AzuKo
- Write and deliver innovative and creative proposals for funding, in line with AzuKo’s strategic aims and annual fundraising goals
- Draft high quality targeted applications to meet funders’ requirements for project outcomes, budgets and monitoring / reporting procedures
- Develop and manage a portfolio of high value relationships with major trusts that provide substantial financial support for AzuKo’s work
- Work closely and proactively with the team to identify new projects, obtain project information and budgets and to ensure a continuous flow of fundraising projects coming forward
- Monitor and provide reports and analysis from income raised from charitable trusts in line with set targets
- Maintain accurate up to date files, profiles and provide reports for fundraising meetings
- Be aware of new trends in the marketplace with the aim of anticipating new trusts fundraising opportunities before they are widely publicised
About You
We expect all team members to share our values and behave in a way that reflects these.
The right candidate will be highly organised and able to communicate AzuKo’s vision effectively. You will have demonstrable experience of grant fundraising from charitable trusts and foundations as well as experience of report writing and the creation of business proposals.
