Founded in 1988 by Ben van Berkel and Caroline Bos, UNStudio specialises in creating ground-breaking architecture and design at all scales, from bridges to public buildings, offices, residences, exhibitions, products and urban masterplans. We are looking for an experienced, creative Design Architect to join our team in Amsterdam. As a Senior Architect with strategic oversight, you are at the forefront of ensuring the seamless execution of projects, guiding the design and effective team coordination. Your primary orientation is creative direction behind the architectural piece. Ideally, you have large-scale project experience and great sense for aesthetics. The role extends to active involvement in acquisition processes, adept contract handling, and the formulation of comprehensive fee proposals. In formal meetings, you serve as the representative of the office, making decisions of a complex and sensitive nature. As a Senior Architect at UNStudio, you are the maestro orchestrating projects to success — your expertise covers design, technical intricacies, and team coordination. You don't only design, there's more to it. You're not ''just'' in meetings; you are actively shaping decisions in the spotlight, applying your strategic finesse. Your deep understanding of organizational dynamics, politics, tactics, and finance is your strategic advantage in navigating project complexities. In risk management, you're the guardian, identifying threats and collaborating with Associate Directors to create innovative and strategic solutions. - Master’s degree or equivalent in Architecture - At least 11+ years of experience as a Design Architect in combination with Project Manager responsibilities within a dynamic, international environment - Familiar with all phases of design with a focus on design development, construction documentation and construction - Knowledge of large scale complex (mixed use) consultant coordination - Fluent in English (presenting, speaking, reading, writing) - Experience with Rhino BIM workflow mandatory, Revit and scripting software is a plus.
