Dezeen is the world’s most popular and influential architecture and design magazine, publishing carefully selected projects and news in architecture, design and interiors from across the globe.

Dezeen is on the hunt for an ambitious architecture editor to join its award-winning team in Hoxton, east London.

The architecture editor will be the face of Dezeen for architects all around the world, representing the magazine at major events and helping us set the global news agenda. Working closely with the editor, deputy editor and editor-in-chief, they will help run a team of in-house journalists and international freelancers. They will be responsible for covering architecture and interior design. They will deliver intelligently written news and features, controversial interviews, cutting-edge projects and curated content published at regular intervals each day.

This is a high-profile position for a talented journalist with experience of writing about the sector in an online environment and an impressive list of industry contacts. Proven management ability is essential as the role involves managing a small team of reporters, including briefing, setting and monitoring deadlines, editing copy and providing feedback. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of negotiating exclusives and breaking major news stories, as well as covering major international events like the Venice Architecture Biennale. They should be able to suggest a constant stream of great ideas for news stories, features and special projects. Needless to say, they will also need to be able to turn out lively, immaculate copy and explain complex issues in simple language. Dezeen prides itself on the quality of its writing so an eagle eye for punctuation, spelling and grammar is essential, as is the ability to thrive under pressure and write and edit at speed with flair and accuracy. An understanding of what makes a great online story, social-media expertise and a working knowledge of web analytical tools like Google Analytics, Parsely and Moz would be useful.
