About Us

We work to make London the best big city in the world. The Mayor runs important services in London like policing, fire and transport, with an annual budget of £17bn. The London Assembly holds the Mayor to account on behalf of Londoners. It regularly questions the Mayor and investigates important issues in London.

About the Role

Do you want to play a key role in helping to design and run large-scale housing delivery programmes to improve the lives of Londoners, including people coming together to develop community led housing, older and disabled people, victims of violence against women and girls, and homeless people? An opportunity has arisen for a motivated and enthusiastic person to join the GLA to assist with the delivery of new community led housing, and the delivery of new and the improvement of existing, supported and specialist housing in the capital. With strong skills in building strong and effective working relationships with partners, you will work closely and collaboratively with a range of stakeholders, including the London Community Led Housing Hub, community led housing organisations, London boroughs and housing associations. You will be an excellent project manager, with experience of managing capital investment programmes and of monitoring and reporting on performance. You will also have a strong understanding of housing delivery issues in London, ideally including some understanding of the planning and construction process, and of development viability. We are committed to being an inclusive employer and we are happy to consider flexible working arrangements. We would welcome applications from candidates who are seeking part time work as this role is open to job share. The Housing & Land Team blog shows some of the ways our staff can work flexibly. London's diversity is its biggest asset and we strive to ensure our workforce reflects London's diversity at all levels. We welcome applications from everyone regardless of age, gender, ethnicity, sexual orientation, faith or disability. Please read our ‘diversity in recruitment’ blog for more information on the positive steps we are taking to ensure diversity in the GLA Housing and Land Directorate. In addition to a good salary package, we offer an attractive range of benefits including 30 days’ annual leave, interest free season ticket loan, interest free bicycle loan, childcare voucher scheme and a career average pension scheme.
