Together we Make the Difference. **How this position will Make the Difference to City of Melbourne…** The Parks and City Greening Branch is responsible for the strategic planning, management, and maintenance of Council’s parks, open space and street trees. The Parks and City Greening Branch adopts a holistic approach, combining strategic foresight and operational excellence to enhance, protect and extend the city’s network of parks and green infrastructure, which is central to the city’s liveability, amenity and global brand. As the Project Officer, you will be responsible for supporting the Urban Forest and Ecology Team to plan, deliver and promote a range of projects under the Urban Forest Strategy and Nature in the City Strategy, including the Exceptional Tree Register. You will work collaboratively with the Urban Forest and Ecology Team and other internal partners on various projects, taking an active support role in the day to day aspects of each project. You will use your interpersonal and communication skills to engage with external stakeholders and customers. Our ideal candidate is someone who enjoys working with others to solve complex problems and deliver great ecological outcomes for the community.

About You

- Ability to demonstrate and display City of Melbourne Values – accountability, integrity, courage, respect for self and others, and striving for excellence - A tertiary qualification and/or experience and proven achievement in project management, policy development, natural/environmental/social science or a related field - Highly developed interpersonal skills and proven written and oral communication skills for general and technical audiences - Ability to organise and work with community members and a range of experts (internal staff, external consultants, academics) - Ability to manage relationships with all relevant stakeholders to achieve required outcomes - An energetic and enthusiastic team player with proven ability to work in a team environment - Demonstrated skills in Microsoft Office suite of packages.
