About Us
The Urban Redevelopment Authority (URA) is Singapore's land use planning and conservation agency. Our mission is 'to make Singapore a great city to live, work and play'. We strive to create an endearing home and a vibrant and sustainable city through long-term planning and innovation, in partnership with the community.
URA’s multi-faceted role includes being the main government land sales agent. We attract and channel private capital investments to develop sites that support planning, economic and social objectives. We also partner the community to enliven our public spaces to create a car-lite, people-friendly and liveable city for all to enjoy. In shaping a distinctive city, URA also promotes architecture and urban design excellence.
About the Role
The Urban Redevelopment Authority (URA) is Singapore's national land use planning authority. URA prepares long term strategic plans, as well as detailed local area plans, for physical development, and then co-ordinates and guides efforts to bring these plans to reality. Prudent land use planning has enabled Singapore to enjoy strong economic growth and social cohesion, and ensures that sufficient land is safeguarded to support continued economic progress and future development.
Singapore needs to undergo continuous transformation as a city to meet the changing aspirations of Singaporeans, and create opportunities for economic growth. Research would help us understand our challenges going forward, develop solutions and pilot them. You will scope and administer; investigate and collaborate with researchers and other government agencies on Research and Development (R&D) projects that have a strong focus on application to real world issues. You will also be required to lead and oversee pilots and test-bedding of new innovations, solutions and outcomes from the R&D projects. We seek future-oriented, creative and inquisitive planners who will shape Singapore’s built environment for the future.
