Technische Universität Braunschweig (TU Braunschweig) is seeking to appoint a personality with pronounced interdisciplinary competence to lead a Junior Research Group on sustainable cities with a successfully proven scientific background of either architecture/urban planning, production engineering, or similar subjects. The post holder will have strong international networks and will contribute actively through research to strengthening the activities and external visibility of the core research area Future City and of TU Braunschweig.
The Junior Research Group aims at advancing interdisciplinary methods of the development, analysis, evaluation and planning of urban flows in mirror of urban production. In the group, techniques for urban design and planning, mobility, production and sustainability assessment in future cities and agglomerations will be at the focus, based on leading-edge research in the fields of architecture/urban planning, and production engineering.
The post holder has a data driven and model-oriented mindset, a scientific background and interest in urban production, in the field of sustainable urban planning and/or production engineering. The post holder will lead a team of two researchers pursuing the interdisciplinary integration and modeling of the material and immaterial flows in the urban system of energy, materials and information to identify synergies of urban processes. The field of application and objective is the development of methods, regulations, building types and technologies for sustainable urban development and production.

The position (TV-L E14; fulltime) is initially appointed for a 4-year period. The doctorate should not have been completed more than 6 years ago.
