About the Role
Reporting to the General Manager in Paris, the Public Affairs Manager will be responsible for creating positive perceptions and awareness of Scoot within the political and public policy arena in Paris and in France.
Building and maintaining effective relationships and communication across a diverse range of stakeholders and communities of interest will be central to this role.
It is our mission to work closely with politicians, regulators, and legislators to educate them about Scoot Networks and the Electric Vehicle Sharing economy, highlighting the significant social and economic impact our business has on cities and territories, and showcase best practices from around the world.
What You're Gonna Do
- Define, develop and implement a public affairs communications strategy to support Scoot’s business interests and corporate profile at local levels - ensuring constant synergy with local marketing initiatives and PR strategy.
- Proactively engage, educate and influence policymakers (at the local level). All in all live and breath Paris' present and future Mobility policy.
- Enhance meaningful relationships with targeted, high-level external audiences raising the profile of Scoot with relevant bodies and stakeholders, educating them about the relative merits of the business.
- Compile research and draft written submissions to government consultations and other relevant bodies as well as attending several association / stakeholders meetings (local pressure groups etc).
- Actively participate in various coalitions and working groups in support of Scoot’s business agenda.
- Establish and maintain two-way communication with relevant official bodies and stakeholders to ensure that Scoot’s company objectives are represented at the relevant legislative and regulatory levels.
- Work with a Public Affairs agency, partners and consultants as and when appropriate.
- Provide strategic communications counsel and leadership to key executives, including issues-management and crisis situations.
- Communicate internally to align messaging and provide colleagues with a thorough understanding of business priorities.
- Monitor proceedings and provide analysis of activities in government departments, political parties, local government, think-tanks, pressure groups, non-governmental organisations (NGOs) and other bodies in order to keep Scoot informed of any industry-related developments.
About You
- 4+ years of Public Affairs experience within Mobility, Sharing Economy, Technology or Urban Planning.
- Comprehensive understanding of Paris’ City Council and the metropolitan area.
- Previous experience of working within a highly regulated industry.
- Excellent written and verbal communications.
- Native level of French is a must.
- Strong interpersonal skills; position continually requires demonstrated poise, tact and diplomacy.
- Self-starter and team player.
- Experience working within Communications or PR is welcomed but not a prerequisite.
- A degree of business development skills is required to start, build and maintain relationships with partners.
