The UFGC is the world’s largest meeting place for CityChangers, people who strive to make their cities more sustainable with lots of passion and commitment. They implement concrete projects, thus improving life in the respective city. The UFGC brings our brightest minds together, regarding itself as a neutral platform without any political agenda. The URBAN FUTURE global conference was founded in 2014 and is taking place in a different European city every year from 2018 onwards. Since 2014, visitor numbers have tripled.

Our passion
We are a young and energetic team who organizes the URBAN FUTURE Global Conference, the world’s largest event for “CityChangers”. We connect and inspire those who act and passionately drive sustainable change in their cities. Our work is impacting the lives of millions of citizens around the world.
Now we’re embarking on a new venture: Together we’ll be creating a global digital platform to provide passionate urban change makers with skills, inspiration and knowhow to drive change even faster.
The position
As editor-in-chief you will work closely with our CEO and the coms director in developing the world’s first content platform for people who change cities. You’ll be responsible for developing and executing the substantial content volume, working with inhouse and external creatives, coordinating the delivery of written content, images, video, podcasts and online courses.
The fun of telling a good story
Our work is highly inspiring and uplifting as we are working with many of the most innovative, visionary and passionate game-changers from around the world on a daily basis. It will be your and your team’s task to develop emotional stories with and about them to inspire others.
Your skills
As a pro journalist you have experience in the field of sustainability and have all the skills needed to develop various types of content in English yourself. You have experience from a media outlet and ideally a strong background in online publishing. As a passionate and communicative team player you enjoy taking initiative and thrive in the absence of too many formal structures. Ideally you have experience in working with (and leading) a team of part-timers and freelancers.
