About the Role

We are looking for someone with substantial client-facing project management experience, who can contribute to our work at the intersection of community wellbeing and the natural environment. Mosaic Insights is a strategy, planning and design practice that exists to influence and create health social landscapes – liveable, sustainable places that support resilient, equitable, healthy communities. We take an evidence-based approach and work across multiple disciplines including urban planning and design, public health, geography, social science, economics, data science, water and sustainability. We undertake research to understand social values and community needs. We analyse the urban environment to inform decision making. We develop policies and strategies to balance the needs of humans and the environment. We use data and evidence to design places that work for people. We are part of the Alluvium Group, and work closely with our partner companies Alluvium and Natural Capital Economics to deliver exceptional multidisciplinary projects. You will have a background in applied social science, urban planning, public policy, open space planning or related discipline. You will be part of our small but growing team, working with leading applied scientists and engineers across the Alluvium Group. Using your strategic thinking and communication skills, you will help our clients tackle Australia’s social and environmental challenges. We provide advice to a range of clients including public sector agencies, private industry, and not-for-profit organisations. You will contribute to all aspects of project delivery and business development. You will manage projects, undertake research and analysis, engage with stakeholders and the community, and help to communicate our advice to a wide range of audiences. Working alongside a multi-disciplinary team, you will have the opportunity to continually develop your skills as a consultant and project manager.

What You're Gonna Do

You will undertake the following tasks on a day-to-day basis - Project management: managing projects, including client management, timelines, budgets, sub-consultants, and output delivery. The size of our projects varies, but we expect that you will lead increasingly complex projects as you grow into the role. - Research and analysis: managing and developing the inputs into our projects. Tasks could include literature and policy reviews, quantitative and qualitative data analysis, working with our spatial, data and climate scientists and synthesising information. - Community and stakeholder engagement: conducting research interviews, facilitating small group discussions, participating in workshops, writing communication material and assisting . - Communications: working with the team to produce a wide range of communication material including reports, presentations, articles and website content. - Business development: contributing to tenders and proposals, working with other team members to undertake business development and developing your own professional networks by representing Mosaic Insights at events and forums.

About You

We are looking for someone who is as passionate about making a difference in our world as much as we are. You have the ability to think critically, integrate concepts and innovate in the way projects are designed and delivered. You can work collaboratively, as well as on your own and are motivated to assist with promoting the Mosaic Insights brand. Skills and experience - Substantial client-facing project management experience. - A qualification in social science, urban planning, public policy, open space planning or related discipline. - Strong research, analytical and problem-solving skills. - Clear and concise written and verbal communication, tailored for the audience. - Effective and efficient planning and organising skills. - Subject matter knowledge related to urban design, public health, urban planning, liveability, and/or community resilience. You are - Passionate, curious and willing to put in the effort to learn and develop as a practitioner and thought leader. - A natural collaborator, willing to work with clients and the team to identify opportunities, solutions and outcomes. - A confident communicator, able to present information in a concise and engaging manner. - Proactive, able to take initiative and identify ways we can keep getting better at what we do. - An effective time manager who can manage multiple tasks and competing deadlines within project timelines, scope and budgets. - Self-motivated and able to work independently. - Willing to travel interstate and to regional areas for short periods (when permitted). - Able to legally work in Australia (we will not consider applicants who require visa sponsorship).
