About the Role

Are you passionate about making our cities better through active and affordable first-and-last-mile solutions? Ford GoBike is looking to hire a passionate and detail oriented Bike Share planner who will play an integral role in bringing bike share to new Bay Area communities and sustain our footprint in existing communities.

What You're Gonna Do

- Contribute to the planning of proposed service areas through geospatial data analysis, research and dynamic map creation. - Inform system designs through the visualization of city design - Conduct desktop assessments, field visits, and field measurements to support new stations as well as network maintenance, as requested. - Assist operations and outreach teams through the planning and execution of public and private requests for deactivations, re-installations and/or relocations. - Proactively propose alternate configurations based on internal and external feedback - Craft communicative print maps and other visual tools to facilitate collaboration with non-planners, elected officials and city agency staff. - Build site-specific wayfinding maps for each station. - Maintain station databases and web-based planning and collaboration tools - Produce detailed record-keeping of your analyses and site review history. - Collaborate with Outreach Coordinators to present options and communicate effectively with residents and neighbors throughout the site selection process. - Build and nurture relationships with the city to support and streamline existing siting, permitting and network maintenance. - Collaborate with Expansion team on the permitting and deployment process.

About You

- 2 + years of relevant work experience - Bachelor's degree in urban planning, architecture, landscape architecture, public policy, GIS, environmental studies, transportation management, or a related field - Experience in AutoCAD, ArcGIS or qGIS required. Portfolio submissions may be requested to evaluate skills. - Strong attention to detail - Passionate about biking, bikeshare or sustainable urban development - You are comfortable working in a dynamic, high-pressure work environment. - You have strong written and verbal communication skills, and are keen not to let things fall through the cracks. - You are able to connect and build trust with all kinds of people - You’re a critical thinker and problem solver – you love structuring and solving complex problems
