Interested in covering cities? Or reporting on how governments can help build and grow a thriving local business community?
Governing, the magazine of record for state and local government, is accepting applications for its City Accelerator Journalism Fellowship, which provides an opportunity for journalists to cover urban innovations in cities as they seek to develop and strengthen an inclusive local business ecosystem.
For 10 weeks starting June 3, the Fellow will work with Governing’s team of reporters and editors in Washington, D.C. The Fellow will receive an $8,000 stipend provided by Citi Foundation and the nonprofit Living Cities, which works with leaders in cities to implement programs that improve the economic well-being of low-income residents, especially residents of color.
The Fellowship is intended for early-career journalists or journalism graduate students (although a degree in journalism is not required) with an interest in covering municipal government issues.
