About the Event

Join a free webinar on inclusive urban design – how to make public spaces and public transport work for everyone. What does it take to make cities truly accessible – for everyone? From how we navigate public squares to how we move through transport systems, accessibility and inclusion remain at the heart of livable cities. Yet, inclusive design often stops at compliance instead of aiming for genuine usability and comfort for people of all ages and abilities. In this free webinar co-organised by All Things Urban and Urban Mobility Explained (UMX) by EIT Urban Mobility, we’ll explore how inclusive design principles can shape both public spaces and public transport systems. You’ll learn from real-world examples and discover how thoughtful design can transform the everyday experiences of city dwellers - from children and older adults to people with disabilities and neurodiverse users. **What You Will Learn** ✅ The foundations of inclusive design: diversity dimensions, neurodiversity, and the mindset shift cities need. ✅ How accessible mapping, signage, and wayfinding systems can improve urban navigation. ✅ Practical examples from Vienna and public transport networks around Europe. ✅ How collaboration between public and private sectors drives inclusive design innovation. ✅ Career insights from experts working at the intersection of design, mobility, and accessibility. 🗣️ Speakers - **Veronika Egger** – Information Designer & President, International Institute for Information Design (IIID) Veronika is an information designer with over 30 years of experience, specializing in inclusive design across mobility and health communication. Sergio is a member of the UITP Design & Culture Committee and regularly delivers training on user-centred transport communication. 🎤 Moderator: Nayla Saniour Known for her engaging moderation style, Nayla will guide the discussion and audience Q&A. 🎓 Continued Learning This session is a collaboration between All Things Urban and UMX and a part of a wider knowledge initiative by Urban Mobility Explained (UMX), powered by EIT Urban Mobility.
