About the Event

What happens after learning the principles behind great street design? You apply them. This time, **UMX by EIT Urban Mobility**, **All Things Urban**, and **Humankind** are coming together to offer a unique interactive experience for urbanists worldwide. Participants who complete the free **Woonerf course** authored by **Lior Steinberg** in collaboration with **UMX by EIT Urban Mobility** will have the chance to join **an exclusive live workshop** with Lior and the Humankind team and **receive a free course certificate**. The course itself takes only 2 hours to complete and introduces the core principles behind Woonerf streets and people-centered urban design. Apply and complete the course [here](https://urbanmobilitycourses.eu/courses/designing-a-livable-neighbourhood-the-woonerf-concept/?utm_source=atu&utm_medium=referral&utm_campaign=woonerf_wksp_26) **Lior Steinberg** is an urban planner, author, and founder of **Humankind**, an internationally recognized urban change agency focused on creating more people-centered streets and public spaces. Through collaborations with cities and organizations across the world, Humankind has helped rethink how streets can become safer, greener, more social, and more inclusive. This is a rare opportunity to **directly engage with Lior and the Humankind team** in a **small-group setting** and apply these ideas to real urban contexts together with fellow city-makers from around the world. This is not a passive webinar. It is a **practical collaborative session** where participants will analyze and rethink real streets using the principles explored in UMX’s course. **During the session, participants will:** - analyze existing street conditions - collaborate in breakout groups - redesign streets together in a workshop format - receive feedback from experts - explore how human-centered street design can work in practice Participants will work on real streets submitted by attendees from their own cities and will leave with a visual concept proposal developed during the session. To make the experience accessible globally, there will be **two live sessions** covering different time zones: - June 23, 2026 at 9:30 AM CET / 3:30 AM New York / 8:30 AM London / 4:30 PM Seoul - June 25, 2026 at 5:00 PM CET / 11:00 AM New York / 4:00 PM London / 12:00 AM Seoul (+1) **Workshop Participation Terms** 1.
