The Nigerian City Development and Climate Impact Challenge (The City Impact Challenge) is a Pan-Nigeria projects mobilization platform that will connect project developers to local and international investors. The goal of the City Impact challenge is to identify, select and facilitate support for sustainable cities and climate
impact reduction projects across Nigeria. The goal will be achieved through the following objectives:
1. To develop a project selection criteria based on the unique project implementation environment in
Nigeria, Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), climate change impacts and other relevant
indicators.
2. To call for the submission of the project from developers including government, private sector, land
use and infrastructure experts, communities, Civil Society Organizations (CSOs), urban development
institutions, climate change innovators and others.
3. To select the most feasible and viable projects using the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG)
climate change impacts and other relevant indicators.
4. To give the award of recognition to the final five projects through linkage to the different project
support organizations and investors.
Projects for consideration must address the unique project implementation environment in Nigeria, provisions of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), African Urban Agenda (AUA) and Paris Agreement on Climate Change (PACC).

3. Drainage / Flood Management
4. Energy
5. Housing
6. Public Space
7. Smart City
8. Transportation
9. Urban Eco-Based Solution / Wetland Protection
10. Urban Development Plans / Policies
11. Urban Regeneration
12. Waste Management
13. Water and Sanitation.
